1.a. Change Windows display to view details:
open My Computer or Windows Explorer
click "View"
click "Details"
repeat this step for every new screen that comes up
1.b. Create new Voyager import folder in Windows:
highlight the STAFF(C): directory
click file, new, folder
type "V-import" [without quotes] over the "NEW FOLDER" file name
press "enter"
2. Install new VGR macro book in Passport:
click the SHARES(F): directory
click the COMMUNITY folder
click the VOYAGER folder
click the Cat_Stuff folder
click the OCLC folder
highlight the "VGR.mbk" file
copy and paste it to: C:\Oclcapps\PASSPORT\
----- click the "Copy" icon
----- scroll up on the "Folders" window on the left
----- click the "Oclcapps" folder
----- highlight the "Passport" folder
----- click the "Paste" icon
----- click the "Passport" folder
----- make sure the "VGR.mbk" file is in the "Passport" folder
----- if necessary, copy and paste again
delete old file CUSTOM.mbk if still present
close My Computer or Windows Explorer
3. Change options and preferences in Voyager
open Voyager Cataloging, click options, preferences
under the "General" tab,
----- set the Bibliographic import/replace profile to "OCLC
conditional"
under the "Folders/Files" tab,
----- type "C:\V-import" [without quotes] in the "folders: import" space
in the lower left area of the screen
under the "Mapping" tab,
----- set the Expected Character Set to "None" and "None"
click OK, close Voyager
4.a. Create Voyager session in OCLC Passport:
open Passport, click session, create
click "yes" to use SessionGuide
click "next" to Prism Cataloging
click "Internet"
click "next"
enter your OCLC authorization and password, click "next"
make sure that there is a check mark in each "embed" box
enter unique name "Voyager"
click "finish"
click "NO" to question to open session
4.b. Create an export path in the Voyager session:
un-check the "establish connection" box
highlight "voyager" and click "open"
click "session" and "settings"
click the "export/transfer" tab
highlight and delete all existing filenames except "none" and "prompt for
filename"
click "create" and "OK"
double-click the "c:\" folder under "Folders"
click the pulldown menu arrow and scroll down to "v-import"
double-click "v-import"
change the "*.dat" file name to "import.dat"
click "OK"
click "OK" to accept export destination:
File:C:\V-IMPORT\IMPORT.DAT
click "close"
click "OK" to save changes to Voyager
open Voyager session
make sure that you can logon and see the greeting
5. Delete old Download, Prismcat and Search sessions:
click session, open, highlight "Download"
click delete, answer "yes"
click session, open, highlight "Prismcat"
click delete, answer "yes"
click "close"
6. Reassign Passport user tools 1 and 2 to new Voyager macros:
click tools, customize, toolbar tab
click pull down menu arrow on user tool 1
scroll and highlight Macro:VGR!UpdateXport
click pulldown menu arrow on user tool 2
scroll and highlight Macro:VGR!Export
click OK
7. Reassign keyboard function keys to new Voyager macros
click tools, customize, keyboard tab
click "macros" radio button under "category"
click in the "press new shortcut key" box
press the F1 function key
scroll in the "macros" box and highlight: Macro:VGR!UpdateXport
click "assign"
F1 should appear as the "current key assignment"
click in the "press new shortcut key" box
press the ctrl-F2 function key combination
scroll down in the "macros" box and highlight: Macro:VGR!Export
click "assign"
Ctrl+F2 should appear as the "current key assignment"
click close
close Passport
8. Change run settings in Keyboard Express:
open Keyboard Express
highlight the hotkey line
click "modify keystrokes"
click "specific window"
click "choose window"
type "Voyager Cataloging" in window title space
click "run macro if topmost window" radio button
click "OK"
click "update"
highlight next line to modify and continue until all are modified
minimize screen
