We are in the program in Medical Anthropology, with shared interests in ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology of Asia and the Pacific.

Lisa's area of study is Indonesia, where she has spent the last 16 years (off and on) investigating the use of medicinal plants in Kalimantan, Java, Sumatra, and Maluku. To learn more click:

Anna has studied the ethnobotany and paleoethnobotany of such diverse areas as Eastern North America, the Marianas Islands and the Hawaiian Islands. Her dissertation research focuses on the marketing and use of complementary medicines in Hawai`i. To learn more click:
