AFTERSCHOOL STUDY HALL

The UH MANOA GEAR UP Afterschool Study Hall is a tutoring program that provides assistance to students in Math and English.

After school tutoring is provided to keep students involved and engaged in school. The tutors for this program are current college students from similar socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and racial backgrounds as the students, thus also serving as mentors and role models for the high school students. Through these tutoring and mentoring activities, students experience positive relationships with peers, college students, and adults, and are engaged in learning activities to help them strive towards high standards and increased educational achievement.
