Although my work is varied, in most of my reseach I have examined the inter-relatedness of past populations using both theoretical concepts derived from evolution, and analytical techniques including elemental characterization of artifacts. My dissertation research examines the diversification of Fijian populations using ceramic compositional work as well as ceramic decorative and technological analyses.

My primary publications include articles on Fijian ceramic technology, aspects of Fijian culture history, monumental architecture in French Polynesia, and the use of evolutionary theory in anthropology.
