Ling 640G, Section 1 - Professional Issues in Linguistics
Fall 2005: MWF 1:30 - 2:20, Moore 203
This course will provide an overview of many professional issues in linguistics,
including responsible conduct in research, presenting work at conferences,
writing and publishing, and conducting an academic job search. Participants
will be expected to prepare materials such as a conference abstract, a
conference handout, and a c.v. as part of the course, and present their
work to the class. Consent of the instructor is required for enrollment.
Who is this course for?
Graduate students in Linguistics who have completed a seminar paper based
on independent research, completed a thesis in linguistics, or completed
some other linguistics research project of similar size. Not sure
