Theatre Historical Society of America
Members in the "Contributor" and higher categories are especially important to THS as their generosity helps fund acquisitions and enhancements to our American Theatre Architecture Archive. These very special members are recognized annually in Marquee®. Any amount over the Regular dues rate is tax-deductible, as allowed by law.
Gift
memberships are available in all categories. The recipient is provided with the name of the donor and information about THSA.
Members of THSA in all categories receive the following benefits:
Members receive our quarterly journal, Marquee®, an illustrated Annual, and a quarterly Newsletter. They are also entitled to receive our e-mailed NewsFlash.
Members are encouraged to submit news items for both the Newsletter and NewsFlash.
Member Discounts
Members receive exclusive discounts on registration fees for our annual Conclave, a summer tour of historic theatres in a different part of the country each year, and on fees for research or the purchase of photos and slide copies from our American Theatre Architecture Archive. Members also receive special discounts on sales promotions of newly-published theatre books offered during the year.
Voting and Holding Office
Members may vote to elect a Regional Director in their geographic area. Elections are held every odd-numbered year. They may also vote to ratify amendments to the THSA By-Laws. Members for at least two consecutive years are also eligible to run for election to the board as a Regional Director.
Member Awards
Each year, a member is selected as Member of the Year for his or her
outstanding effort and contribution to the organization.
Nominations are solicited from the membership, with the final selection made by the Board
of Directors.
Writing or Volunteering for THS
Members may submit articles for consideration for publication in Marquee®. Interested members may also volunteer to serve on various committees in line with their interests or expertise. Members in the Chicago area are invited to Volunteer at THS headquarters.

Members have the satisfaction of knowing that their membership helps support THS's efforts to collect, preserve and celebrate the rich heritage of America's historic theatres! This has been our mission since our founding in 1969 and we sincerely invite you to join us!
